Sunday 28th August – bike ***** – Around Felixstowe including picnic at Levington– sunny and hot:(

What a great weekend :)

Friday 26th Aug.

Started on Friday when I headed down to Felixstowe seafront to get some nice pics of the sunrise, the first I had seen for serval weeks, even got one on BBC’s Look East and many many likes on Facebook. Then our son Robert with Hananh and Grandson arrived late afternoon for a visit. We took our tea down to the beach for a swim/paddle and catch up:)

Saturday 27th Aug.

Nice morning at home with Arlo before Robert, Hannah, Arlo, Daniel and I go to watch Ipswich Town play Barnsley, I am not a great lover of football but had a good afternoon, sadly Ipswich could only draw 2 -2!

Sunday 28th Aug – bike *****

Pretty much perfect day, wall to wall sunshine so after breakfast I packed a large picnic and we all headed out on our bikes heading inland past the Grove Pak, Gulpher then Candlet Lane to Trimley. Over the huge green footbridge over the railway, down past Loompit Lake arriving at Levington Bay just before high water and it looked amazing, with the breeze offshore it was mirror flat making it ideal for swimming and paddling, the water was warm too, thee was already a large family enjoying themselves so we walked a little to the left and found a nice spot:) Hannah went straight in swimming while I paddled with Arlo before enjoying the yummy picnic with loads going on in front of us on the River Orwell, Jamie was out foiling, three were water skiers, many yachts, an old barge, the border force boat, with fish in the water and geese flying past too, this must be one of the best places in Suffolk. After lunch there was more swimming/paddling, while Mag collected blackberries as the tide started to drop! After a couple of fantastic hours, we headed for home along the tree lined path, stopping to feed the fish and home for a rest before heading out to long-time friends for a Chinese and that was a top night too:)

Monday 29th Aug. Early morning prom walk ****
Mag and I had an early morning walk to Jacobs Ladder with some top skies too.
Rob and Hannah head out the bikes which included a swim at The Dip while I had loads of fun with Arlo, I think we played in every room in the house including the garden, he has such an imagination and I loved every minute although it is exhausting! Then after lunch Dan and Jay arrive for an hour before Rob, Hannah and Arlo head to Norfolk for a week of c amping near the broads:)
Again, it was another breezy day and I missed another days foiling on the Stour but had a wonderful family weekend instead and it looks like the wind is continuing for a few more days:)
